Your Credit Rating is a very important number to be concerned with. Often called your Credit Score, this number tells banks, lenders, credit card companies and other finance companies if you are rated high enough that they can be confident to lend you money. Your Credit Score represents your past credit history (tracking how you paid your bills and loans) as well as your current credit situation in terms of debt, late payments, past due payments, etc.

Your Credit Rating, or Credit Score also is used to gauge what Interest Rate you may receive from a lender or credit card company if you are approved for a loan. Ideally, you want to maximize your credit rating by paying your bills on time, and making sure there are no unpaid debts on your credit report.
